When you have to burn a good part of your story

Ever had one of those days?
You get everything you want typed out – the entire story or section is there in its shining glory.
You feel good.
You feel accomplished.

Then you come back to it the next day and your jaw drops open.
WHAT WAS I THINKING?

*frantic deletion of content*

Kidding. I don’t actually delete it. It’s usually not so far gone that it needs to be erased from existence.
That said, what do I know? I’m not published yet – maybe some of my stuff would be better off rewritten!

But it is disheartening when a section doesn’t work out.
Especially when you may have spent an hour trying to perfect it only to come to the realization that it is a lost cause.

Readers, I just wanted to post today to say that it’s a hard thing but even that which gets deleted has been a learning experience.
It’s only going to improve your ability. At least, that’s what I believe – time will tell if my writing improves from it!
Until next time.
